Learn To Skate USA
RSA teaches the official Learn To Skate USA Program. Participants must have a Learn To Skate USA Membership.
Snowplow Sam classes are designed to help preschoolers aged 2-5 develop preliminary strength and coordination to maneuver on the ice. Toys and games are used to help children feel safe and become comfortable on the ice.
Basic Skills is a beginners’ program covering the fundamentals of ice skating. Through a series of eight levels, students learn forward skating, backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns, enabling them to advance to more specialized programs upon completion.
The Hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. Through four levels, skaters learn to maneuver faster and be more agile on the ice. Proper skating techniques are the primary focus. Skaters will learn the necessary fundamentals to be successful in game situations. Each skater should be able to do forward crossovers, skate backwards, and stop.
Teen & Adult Basic Skills
The Adult Learn to Skate program is designed to teach proper skating techniques to novice adult skaters who wish to enjoy skating as part of their fit and healthy lifestyle. The goal is to promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination on the ice. Through six levels, students will be motivated to progress at an individual pace.
